Ppp Serves 1,700 Residents In San Simon

A total of 1,700 residents in barangay San Simon have availed of basic services offered for free by the city government of Cagayan de Oro during the People to People Program (PPP) held there today, May 23.

City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula led other city government officials and employees in the delivery of basic services to the barangay residents of San Simon during the one-stop shop community outreach program. Medical consultation with free medicines offered by the City Health Office served a total of 600 clients while dental clinic served 124 residents and circumcision served 58 children. There were 360 residents who were served under the nutritional feeding services during the PPP today and another 300 families who received rice assistance. Other major services availed by the residents include free reading of educational books and materials benefiting 60 children; free haircut-- 25; community tax certificate—1; business and realty tax payments—3; and issuance of tax declarations to 67 real property owners. A total of 80 farmers also benefited from various veterinary services such as vaccination on 40 farm animals; vitamins supplementation for 6 goats and 225 hogs; and deworming of 243 hogs. Farmers and residents also got free seedlings of fruit trees as the Agricultural Productivity Office dispersed 150 grafted mango and 100 jack fruit seedlings, including 400 packs of vegetable seeds of kangkong, okra, bush sitao and pechay. Eleven unmarried couples also joined the mass wedding with Mayor Jaraula as the solemnizing officer and witnessed by city councilors Ian Mark Nacaya, Caesar Ian Acenas, Alfonso Goking, Dante Pajo, Emmanuel Abejuela, Alexander Dacer, Reynaldo Advincula, Adrian Barba, President Elipe, and Marycor Calizo and the barangay council of San Simon led by Brgy. Chair Rodulfo Nacario. The People to People Program is a regular outreach program of the city government since 1998 which aims to bring basic services right at the doorsteps of the city residents.
