2008-10-17“Housing Fair 2008” Set To Unveil In CdeO
by Ian A. Fuentes/city Information OfficeCagayan de Oro City is slated to host next week a three-day fair that will showcase projects and products of stakeholders in the booming housing industry like subdivision developers, manufacturers and construction firms.
The “Housing Fair 2008”, which centers on the theme: “Why Rent, When You Can Own”, will be held on October 21-23, 2008 at the Limketkai Center Rotunda with City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula as chairman and Val Sta. Ana, president of the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association Northern Mindanao (SHDA-NMC) as co-chairman. The fair, organized by the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) and other government agencies, aims to assist and provide an opportunity for employees from the government and private sector, including Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW’s) to own a decent house according to their needs and affordability. A motorcade around the city at 8:00 in the morning will kick-off the event and to be shortly followed by the ceremonial cutting of ribbon for exhibit opening by First Lady Divina Jaraula. Vice Mayor Vicente Y. Emano is expected to welcome the guests, participants, exhibitors and participating agencies during the opening program, while Mayor Jaraula and HUDCC Deputy Secretary General Atty. Pamela B. Felizarta will deliver their respective inspirational messages. Participating agencies include Pag-ibig Fund, National Housing Authority (NHA), Housing Land Use and Regulatory Board (HLURB), NHMFC, SHFC, Social Security System (SSS), and Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP). Exhibitors are: BDO, Crown Communities Cagayan, Firm Builders Realty Development Corp., Golden Pebbles Dev’t Corp., Holcim Cement, Johndorf Ventures Corp., Jukens Builders and Trade, Liberty Land Corp., Menzi Orchard Residences, Parasat Cable TV, Pueblo De Oro Dev’t Corp., Robinsons Land Corp., Tuscania Cagayan de Oro by Land Resources Corp., Union Galvasteel Corp., and WD & J Builders. Sponsoring the three-day housing fair are: Boysen Paints, The A/V Room and Limketkai Center .
