by Ian A. Fuentes/city Information OfficeCity Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Emano has extended on a ‘holdover capacity’ the appointment of some casual, contractual, co-terminous and job order employees in order not to hamper the delivery of basic services to the people.
City Hall employees referred to by Mayor Emano are those assigned on janitorial services; garbage collection; street sweeping; sanitary landfill operation; security guards in various schools, city government properties and premises, and security detail of city officials; traffic rules enforcement and official drivers of city officials and department heads/chiefs of office. “Employees actually assigned and performing duties as specified in this order are hereby extended on holdover capacity until further action from this level,” advised Mayor Emano, in a memorandum to all department heads and chiefs of office at City Hall. In contrast, however, employees who have not yet been renewed are advised not to report for duty effective July 29, 2010 pending review of their job performance and ongoing personnel audit of several departments and offices, the same order clarified.
