2010-07-30Barba Invites Students To Use Library
by Eileen Josephine L. Borja/city Council OfficeCOUNCILOR Adrian Barba, chair of the City Council committee on education, encourages students especially in public schools to avail of the services of the airconditioned City Public Library.
Councilor Barba said the city has increased library sources and will continue to upgrade the library. “Last year we have acquired new reference and subject books and we are even in the process of augmenting them this year,” Councilor Barba told The PowerAccording to Lorna Remolado of the City Library, students can borrow and take home as many as three fiction books and avail of internet services if they are library members.She said since the enactment of Ordinance No.8637-2003, 9,710 were already issued with library cards. The ordinance imposes an annual membership fee of P30 to library users.According to Remolado, senior citizens are exempted from this and are welcome to use the library anytime even without having to secure a library I.D card.(ELB)
