High-ranking officials from the Australian Embassy in Manila met on August 30, 2018 with Mayor Oscar S. Moreno to discuss city government's development programs and areas of focus not only for Cagayan de Oro City but also for the region, recognizing the city's strategic location in Northern Mindanao.

Mayor Moreno also briefed the delegation about the local government’s strategies in promoting peace and stability in the city and the region through participatory approach in governance.

COWD Water Supplier Breaks Ground New Pipeline For East Service Area

Mayor Oscar Moreno and top executives of Cagayan de Oro City Water District and its bulk water supplier, Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water Inc., led the groundbreaking of the P251-million, nine kilometer east pipeline and the Camaman-an reservoir retrofitting and waterproofing, August 3, 2018.

The new facility is expected to supply an additional 20 million liters daily (MLD) of treated water to COWD during first year of operations, and another 20 MLD during the second year.

Eastern barangays of Cagayan de Oro covering Lapasan to Tablon, including Camaman-an, are expected to benefit from the new facility. (IAF-CIO/photos by Roel Felicitas)
