"I hope ang atong city jail will be far from the rest ug makatabang pagmugna sa malig-on ug limpyo nga syudad."
This was stated by Mayor Oscar Moreno during the ceremonial capsule laying, blessing and groundbreaking of the first-ever 3-storey, male dormitory building at City Jail located in Barangay Lumbia this morning, Oct. 25, 2017.
The P19.2-million project is funded by the city government under the Moreno administration, with the support of the 18th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy.
City Councilor Romeo Calizo, Jail Supt. Erwin Kenny Ronquillo, Hapsay Buhay program coordinator Patrick Gabutina, city hall department heads, officials of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines MisOr-CDO Chapter, officials of Barangay Lumbia, non-government organizations and some inmates witnessed the activity.

Members of the Eco warriors in Cogon Market can now have an additional source of livelihood from the waste materials as the City Economic Enterprise Department (CEED) through its Sanitation Division has launched its Wealth on Waste (WOW) project in Cogon market on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017.
Mayor Oscar Moreno and Majority Floor Leader City Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya, Chairman of the Committee on Economic Enterprise together with the CEED management team led the launching of the project and ribbon cutting of Cogon market's Material Recovery Facility (MRF).
The Eco Warriors is composed of De Oro Labor Ass'n, Parking Boys, and Cogon Market Labor Ass'n.
