There are no delays in the release of allowances and the payment of tuition of Cagayan de Oro City’s scholars, Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy reiterated on Monday.
In his message to City Hall’s bureaucracy during Monday’s flag raising, Mayor Klarex said City Hall through the 20th City Council strives to update the release of allowances and payment of tuition of the city’s scholars who are enrolled in various colleges and universities in the city.
‘Bisan unsaon pa nila (detractors) pag-adto og pangita og pamaagi og pagdaot sa (atong administrasyon) sa nagkalain-laing tunghaan og unibersidad sa dakbayan, wala sila nahimo kay wala sukad nahitabo na nadilatar sa pagbayad sa mga tuition sa scholars sa atong dakbayan (Regardless of how many times our detractors went and find ways to malign our administration to other schools and universities in the city, they were unable to do anything since there were no delays in the payment of tuition of our city’s scholars),’ Mayor Klarex said.
Mayor Klarex also assured that the City Scholarships Office (CSO) continues to update the disbursement of allowances to the city’s scholars provided they comply with their requirements to their schools.
These requirements include timely grade submissions and community service. ‘Ang mga allowances sa city scholars updated tanan….apan dili malikayan (delays) kay tungod pud sa (kulang ang ilang rekisitos) nga gipangayo (sa Department of Education/DepEd) (The allowances of our city scholars are updated)…but some delays cannot be avoided due to lack of requirements that were mandated by the Department of Education (DepEd),’ Mayor Klarex said.
Mayor Klarex also thanked Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba and CSO chief Richel Petalcurin-Dahay for addressing the concerns of the city scholars in a meeting chaired by Councilor Daba last Friday.
The meeting held by the City Council’s education committee chaired by Councilor Daba at the City Council’s conference room addressed allegations of delayed release of allowances to the city’s scholars.
During the meeting, Dahay said their office relies on the master list of grades submitted by City Hall’s partner schools in the scholarship program to confirm whether the city scholars have enrolled in the schools, are physically attending classes and fully complied with the program’s academic requirements.
