The City Council for the Protection of Children (CCPC) headed by Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy successfully held its workshop on the Annual Program Implementation Review (APIR) for the Local Development Plan for Children (LDPC), Feb. 25–27, at JETS Mountain View Resort, Madaguing, Claveria.
The workshop gathered CCPC members composed of representatives from City Hall departments, national government agencies, civil society organizations and child representatives to advance child protection and development programs.
Among the workshop highlights were the assessment of the Results and Risk Framework to see if current programs are hitting their targets, identifying exactly where service delivery has lagged and documenting through "lessons learned" to prevent future challenges.
The workshop also finalized the 2026 Annual Work and Financial Plan to ensure that child protection remains a funded priority.
It has been known that the results of the workshop will be formally endorsed to the 21st City Council and will be integrated into the city’s 2026 budget and planning processes.
At present the CCPC personally led by Mayor Klarex Uy, continues to prioritize the fundamental rights of children.
The Klarex administration's involvement signals a high-level commitment to making Cagayan de Oro a gold standard for child-friendly governance in Northern Mindanao. (NLB/CIO/photos courtesy of CCPC)
