THE Inter-Ateneo Football (IAF) held a press conference on Friday, Feb. 27 at one of the city’s hotels for the upcoming Inter-Ateneo Football (IAF) 2026 tournament.

 

Cagayan de Oro will host this year’s IAF which carries the theme, 'Magkakampi Tayo, Hindi Magkalaban.'

 

The games will officially begin tomorrow, February 28, at the Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan Basic Education Campus located along Masterson’s Avenue, Uptown Cagayan de Oro.

 

During the presscon, organizers said the tournament was first launched in 2020 as a way to unite Ateneo schools through friendly competition, with hosting duties rotating among participating institutions.

 

They also shared the preparations they have made emotionally, mentally and physically for the event.

 

This year marks the second round of hosting after all participating schools have completed their first rotation.

 

Participating Ateneo universities include Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan, Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU), Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU), and Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU).
