THE Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in partnership with the City Schools Division of Cagayan de Oro and Local School Board (LSB) launched a three-day teacher's training program titled ‘Gen AI for Smarter Classrooms’ at YMCA Founders Hall on Thursday, Feb. 26.
The training program is made possible through the support of funders including HP Ai and the World YMCA, who provided trainers and resource speakers that imparted expertise and practical insights, ensuring that participating educators gained both technical knowledge and real-world applications of AI in the classroom.
This initiative brings together ICT officers from all public elementary and secondary upland schools in the city.
Participating educators are provided pre-tests and specialized modules designed to enhance digital literacy, classroom innovation, and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence tools into teaching practices.
The training aims to equip educators with practical strategies for efficient lesson delivery, improving student engagement, and fostering adaptive learning environments.
By investing in AI-driven approaches, the Local School Board highlights its commitment to preparing both teachers and students for the evolving demands of 21st-century education. (LRM/CIO photos by Johnel Neri/CIO)
