AMID the observance of Holy Week, the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD) Disaster Response Team delivered immediate assistance to families affected by a fire incident in Zone 2 Pinikitan, Camaman-an on Friday, April 3.
As per initial data of CSWD, a total of 48 families, with 197 individuals, were affected by the fire incident. In response, the CSWD provided City Emergency Assistance to help meet the urgent needs of the displaced residents.
Each affected family received essential non-food items, including hygiene kits, dining kits, kitchen kits, mats, blankets, and mosquito nets to support their temporary living conditions.
CSWD also provided the barangay community kitchen with sacks of rice, and canned goods to ensure food security for the affected families.
At present, the team continues to monitor the situation and are coordinating further assistance as needed for the affected families.
For those who wish to donate, the families are staying at the Barangay Camaman-an covered court, which serves as the evacuation center.
