THE City’s Crisis Committee, chaired by Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, convened on March 31 at the Office of the City Mayor. The composite team, created through an Executive Order, aims to address the impact of the ongoing energy crisis and ensure an adequate and continuous supply of petroleum products and other essential commodities in the city.

During the meeting, key updates and contingency plans were presented to help mitigate the effects of the energy crisis. The committee assured every Kagay-anon that it will do its best to prevent any possible shortage of essential supplies in the coming months.

Various concerns were discussed, including price monitoring, prevention of hoarding, investments, health, social services, budget allocation, agriculture, peace and order, crisis communications management, and the activation of the Emergency Operations Center.

Following a comprehensive discussion, initial solutions and strategic measures were formulated. These include strengthened coordination between the local government unit and relevant national agencies to sustain the supply of essential goods and minimize the impact of the energy crisis on the city.

The committee is scheduled to formulate an action plan early next week and will meet regularly until such time as the present situation de-escalates.
