A BASKETBALL coaching session for Cagayan de Oro City sponsored scholars was held on Tuesday, April 28 at the Cagayan de Oro City National High School-Junior High School Campus, this city.
The session sponsored by the City Education and Development Office (CEDO) and City Sports Development Office was conducted by US university coach Randy Brown, who used to coach former Chicago Bulls cager and now Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.
The rare coaching session opportunity allowed city scholars to learn professional drills and tactical skills directly from an NBA-level mentor.
CEDO said the session aims to provide holistic development for the city scholars to balance their academic support alongside world-class athletic exposure to help them reach their full potential.
Beyond sports training, both CEDO and the City Sports Development Office said the coaching session is anchored on the broader developmental value of athletics by emphasizing discipline, teamwork, leadership, resilience, and focus.
CEDO said sports serve as a powerful complement to academic growth, helping shape well-rounded scholars who are not only academically prepared but also equipped with life skills essential for personal development and future success. (NLB/CIO/photos by Jhoanne Abejo/CIO)
