With Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy, Vice Mayor Jocelyn Rodriguez and the administration bloc of the 21st City Council in attendance, the Office of the Building Official opened the month of May by hosting the opening flag raising program for the month at the City Hall quadrangle.
Aside from outlining their accomplishments for calendar years 2025 to mid 2026, the department also chose their ‘Employee Of The Year’ and paid tribute to one of their senior employees through a simple sendoff ceremony.
Among the major announcements made during the program were the ‘National Heritage Month’ spearheaded by the City Museum of Cagayan de Oro, the launching of the Business Incubation Center by the Oro Trade Investments Promotions Center (Oro-TIPC) and the annual observance of ‘Electrical Safety Month’ promoted by the Institute of Electrical Engineers-Cagayan de Oro Misamis Oriental chapter.
The City Division of the Department of Education (DepEd) also thanked City Hall under Mayor Klarex’s administration for their support to the city schools delegation who won honors for Cagayan de Oro in the recently concluded National Schools Press Conference held in Ormoc, Leyte last April 13-17.
In his monthly message, Mayor Klarex reminded City Hall departments to ready measures to cushion the effects of the incoming El Niño season while thanking them for their effective collective response in addressing local emergencies such as the spare of fire outbreaks in the city.
Mayor Klarex also thanked the 21st City Council presided by Vice Mayor Rodriguez for their timely and immediate response to his request for financial assistance to the city’s motorela drivers and operators who were hard hit by the global fuel crisis./Text by SC with CIO photos by Reynan Baylin
