CAGAYAN de Oro City’s female softball team secured the sixth spot out of a field of 18 teams competing in the ongoing 2026 Palarong Pambansa held in Agusan del Sur.
The team is composed mainly of players from Canitoan National High School in Cagayan de Oro City and represented Region 10 in the national competition. This marked the first time the team commpeted in the Palarong Pambansa.
The players from Cagayan de Oro City were Charmel Tabaniag, Princess Jelo Buhay, Mercy Lavictoria, Shawn Alleah Maarta, Jeanah Lyne Tabaniag, Jamaica Cachero, Kish Miro, Kyra Makinano, Merry Quenne Villanueva, Alta Greece Pasco and Maraiza Daluz.
Joining the team as pick-up players from other areas were Nowen Jean Soreño of Angeles Sisters National High School, Angel Jan Mae Alamag of Valencia City National High School and Ariane Bicoy of Iligan City High School.
