Klarex hopeful on orderly school cash aid payout
Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy said on Friday he’s hopeful that Saturday’s (Sept. 3) distribution of educational cash aid by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-10) be peaceful, orderly and efficient.
‘The DSWD-10 officials visited our office and we assured them that we will provide personnel to help secure their area and assist in the orderly distribution of their educational cash aid. This (educational cash aid payout) is primarily an activity by the DSWD and my only wish is that the distribution be done efficiently without any inconvenience to the recipients,’ said Mayor Klarex in Visayan.
During his weekly program ‘Ang Inyong Alagad: Mayor Klarex’, Mayor Klarex said the educational cash aid given by the DSWD will be beneficial to the recipient families whose children had to stop schooling due to limited budgets. When asked if the city would provide counterpart cash aid, Mayor Klarex said the city has its scholarship program to support qualified recipients.
The Sept. 3 payout for beneficiaries of the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) will be held at the Pelaez Sports Center starting at 8 am until 5 pm. No walk-in applicants are allowed as identified recipients will be texted in advance and the next cash aid payouts are scheduled on Sept. 10, 17 and Sept. 24 also at the Pelaez Sports Center./SC with additional info by Maria Monica L.
