The City Government of Cagayan de Oro was recognized for its technical innovations and online services that helped Kagay-anons cope up with the modern age.

 

 

During the awarding ceremony of GCash Digital Excellence Awards on December 1, 2022, City Management Information Systems Officer Zelfred Anthony Cocon and Assistant City Treasurer Engr. Leonil Mistula, who represented City Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy, received the “Excellence in Digital Ecosystem Innovation” award from the e-wallet giant, GCash.

 

The ‘Excellence in Digital Ecosystem Innovation Award’ is given to local government units (LGUs), national government agencies, and government-owned and controlled corporations that promoted the adoption of GCash services among their constituents.

 

Cagayan de Oro City was recognized for its innovations in collecting local revenues through online platforms. Through its Digital Excellence Awards, GCash aims to motivate the public and private sector groups to innovate their services to Filipinos, and inspire others to follow their lead towards a more financially inclusive and cash-lite society.
