RTA SAYS 1,400 TRAFFIC VIOLATORS READY TO AVAIL TAX RELIEF

Written by
More than 1,400 traffic violators are ready to avail the tax relief/condonation ordinance, the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) reported during the meeting with the ORO-TIPC on Monday, December 5, 2022.
The tax relief ordinance is set to be fully implemented on Thursday, December 7.

For persons who have violated traffic and parking rules in 2021 and prior years and issued with Traffic Citation Tickets (TCT) by the RTA as per Ordinance No. 14385-2022, which was approved in October this year, grants them relief in a form of condonation of their penalties or administrative fines.

Traffic violators availing of the condonation should secure a Certificate of Availment from the Office of the City Mayor. The said certificate will be submitted to the RTA for the withdrawal of the violation report.

If he or she has TCT issued for 2022, they have to be paid in full before they can avail of the condonation. Then, they will have to secure their Certificate of Traffic Violations and Billing from the RTA.
The Certificate of Availment and Certificate of Traffic Violations, and the receipt for full payment of 2022 TCT, if any, will be the basis for the City Treasurer's Office to accept the payment. (JAS/CIO)
