MAYOR KLAREX TURNS OVER 7 BRAND NEW RESCUE VEHICLES TO HINTERLAND BRGYS

Written by
City Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy has turned over seven rescue vehicles to seven first district barangays in Cagayan de Oro City on Wednesday, December 28.

In a simple turnover ceremony at city hall quadrangle, Mayor Klarex handed over the vehicles’ keys to the officials from hinterland barangays of Tignapoloan, Tagpangi, Taglimao, Besigan, Pagalungan, Tuburan, and Tumpagon.
The vehicles will be used not only for quick response during disasters but also when providing emergency services to the residents.

"Sa akong dakong pagtuo, ang sakyanan karong panahona dako kaayo og ikatabang sa pagpangalagad, pag-serbisyo, ug pagtubag sa gikinahanglan sa katawhan," the city mayor said.
He added that he doesn't want the barangay officials to experience the same situation he experienced when he was a barangay captain, wherein a patient, who asked for emergency assistance from the barangay, was not immediately taken to the hospital due to no emergency transport vehicle available.

"Dili ko gusto nga sa akong kasinatian isip kapitan kaniadto, makasinati sila sa akong naagian nga problema. Mao nang karon, kay gitagaan ko sa kahigayunan, gihatag nako ang akong katungdanan kaniadto nga dili na sila karon mag-problema sa sakyanan," Mayor Klarex said.

Nick Jabagat, the head of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Department (CDRRMD), for his part, reminded the recipients to take care of the vehicles as well as utilize them, especially when extending their services to the Kagay-anons.

"I hope nga magamit nato ni sa insakto, ma-maximize nato pagtabang sa atong mga kaigsuonan, dili lang during disaster but of course sa atong pagpangandam sa tanang moabot sa atoang kabarangayan," Jabagat said. (JAS/photos by Rod Constantino of CIO)
