Taking a step towards a more sustainable future, ‘Project Lunhaw’ team, along with Coast Guard, is surveying the river banks of Cagayan de Oro River to identify the best locations for mangrove planting.
These hardy trees not only serve as a natural barrier against erosion and storm surges, but also provide crucial habitat for a wide variety of marine life. With a keen eye for ecological balance, our experts are carefully assessing soil quality, water flow, and other key factors to ensure that each sapling has the best possible chance of thriving.
By planting these vital ecosystems, we can help protect our coastlines and preserve the beauty and diversity of our natural world for generations to come. (CIO/photos by Jomar Figuracion)
