Congratulations to Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ A. Uy after being awarded as the 'Most Outstanding Youth Champion - Davao Hub (Mindanao) by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The award was conferred to City Administrator and city mayor’s representative Atty. Roy Hilario P. Raagas who led Cagayan de Oro City delegation during USAID’s Opportunity 2.0 Program "Second-Chance Opportunities for Out of School Youth" held at the Novotel Quezon City on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
Committee on Education Chairperson City Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President Kenneth John Sacala, Oro Youth Development Officer Lord Saver Centina and other city officials were also present during the awarding ceremony.
Opportunity 2.0 is a program of the USAID that supports systems in the Philippines to provide second-chance education to 180,000 out-of-school youth across 15 cities that lead to their successful employment and livelihoods.
The program sites include Angeles City, Valenzuela City, Quezon City, Pasig City and Legazpi City in Luzon while Cebu City, Tagbilaran City and Iloilo City comprises in Visayas, and the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Davao, General Santos, Cotabato, Zamboanga, Isabela and Iligan for Mindanao. (CIO)
