Milo Marathon in CdeO ends on triumphant note

Cagayan de Oro City made history as the 1st local government in Mindanao to host the national finals of the Milo Marathon which wrapped up on Sunday, Dec. 1.
 
More than a thousand runners from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao joined the marathon which coincided with Milo’s 60th anniversary.
 
‘The 2024 Milo Marathon finals is the first in Mindanao—and we are very excited in doing it here in Cagayan de Oro City,’ said Milo Sports Chief Carlo Sampan.
 
The marathon consisted of the 5km, 10km, 15km, and 21km categories among other events.
 
Those who emerged winners were Richard Salaño who claimed the Milo King title with a time of 2:55:29, while Christine Hallasgo was crowned Milo Queen, clocking in at 2:59:29.
 
They each received ₱60,000 cash and a trophy. They will represent the Philippines in the upcoming Sydney Marathon.
 
The marathon covered the scenic route from Velez Street to nearby Tagoloan town, Misamis Oriental.
