Cagayan de Oro City Hall employees, department managers and officials will soon be required to wear Filipiniana attire every Monday based on a circular issued by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), City Administrator Roy Hilario Raagas said on Monday.
During Monday’s flag raising program, Raagas said this week’s meeting spearheaded by the mayor’s office and City Hall’s Human Resources Management Department with 46 City Hall departments and offices will be followed by an announcement adopting the Filipiniana dress code for both officials and the bureaucracy.
‘This CSC order covers all national government agencies and local governments and mandates government employees and officials to wear Asean inspired attire on the first Monday of the month and Filipiniana attire on (the other Mondays of the month). Mayor (Rolando) ‘Klarex’ Uy will soon issue an executive order (for this purpose),’ Raagas said.
Mayor Klarex’s executive order is in compliance to CSC Resolution No. 2400766 issued last Aug. 29 2024 which adopts a revised dress code for government employees and officials. The CSC resolution states that Asean-inspired attire will be worn on the first Monday of every month and Filipiniana attire will be worn on the second to fourth Mondays of the month.
‘Filipiniana attire can also be considered as Asean inspired attire. The clothing allowance issued to employees will be used (to purchase these attire),’ Raagas said. He also said exemptions will be granted to certain departments such as those assigned in the city-owned JR Borja General Hospital./Text by SC with CIO photo by Reynan Baylin
