Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy thanked anew the city’s Filipino-Chinese community for their contributions to Cagayan de Oro.

 

‘Today, the Filipino Chinese community continues to make a big difference, especially here in Cagayan de Oro. You are leaders in business and industry, and your partnership and support have helped our city grow. For that, mapasalamaton ang dakbayan sa Cagayan de Oro, ilabina na kanako na kanunay kamong ga-suporta sa atong dakbayan ug sa akong pagdumala,” Mayor Klarex said during the simultaneous ceremonial lighting ceremony at City Hall and Gaston Park to mark Chinese New Year on Monday (Jan. 27).

 

The lighting ceremony attended by the 20th City Council and leaders of the city’s Filipino-Chinese community kicked off a weeklong calendar of activities to mark the Chinese New Year.
