A forum aimed at sustaining multi-sectoral efforts to level up Cagayan de Oro City Hall’s technical vocational scholars to world class standards was held at the Vineyard International Polytechnic College, this city.
Last Friday’s (March 14) RISE TVET Forum for Workforce Readiness and Economic Growth was joined by Cagayan de Oro City’s leading educators and representatives of national government agencies and private institutions.
The forum sponsored by the City Education and Development Office focused on the importance of upgrading and diversifying the skill sets of the city's RISE-TVET scholars in order to meet job market demands.
It also tackled the Omnibus Guidelines on TVET Micro-Credentialing and its role in improving employability.
Organizers also emphasized the urgency to reinforce public-private partnerships in developing the RISE-TVET scholars into a skilled and adaptable workforce that can contribute to the city’s economic growth.
The RISE-TVET program is designed for students pursuing diploma courses geared towards equipping them with industry-relevant skills for better career opportunities. (NLB/CIO/photos by Kim Zaldivar/CIO)
