Seven homegrown businesses headline the Cagayan de Oro City exhibit spearheaded by City Hall at Thursday’s (May 22) opening of the International Food Exhibition (IFEX) Philippines 2025 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City.

The local businesses representing Cagayan de Oro were Shiga (Fire Dream Concoctions), Mang Kiko’s Cacao (Seabeth Food Processing), SLERS Industries Inc., Chino’s Deli, Bite Me Up Food Corp., Bestfriend Goodies, and Hinam-is Delights, Inc.

Their participation is made possible through City Hall’s Oro Trade and Investment Promotions Center (Oro-TIPC) in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-10)-Misamis Oriental.

With the theme “Where Global Food Meets Sustainability,” this year’s IFEX emphasizes the intersection of innovation, tradition, and environmental responsibility.

The featured CDO-based brands are consistent in implementing sustainable practices such as fair trade, local sourcing, and eco-friendly production, thereby demonstrating their readiness to meet international standards while celebrating their cultural roots.

Leading the Cagayan de Oro delegation are the officials of Oro-TIPC headed by their chief John Asuncion. They were also joined by DTI-Misamis Oriental officials and staff led by DTI-Misamis Oriental Provincial Director Jesusa Abear.

Organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), IFEX Philippines is the country’s biggest business-to-business and export-oriented international trade show for food, beverages, and ingredients. The three-day expo is set to run until Saturday, May 24. (NLB/CIO | Photos courtesy of Oro-TIPC)
