CITY AGRI DEPT TAPPING CdeO SCHOOLS FOR VEGGIE GARDENING PROJECT

The City Agriculture Productivity Operations Office (CAPOO) met with teachers of Cagayan de Oro City’s four public schools on Wednesday (July 23) to promote their Gulayaan Sa Paaralan (Vegetable Planting in Schools) program.
 
The meeting handled by CAPOO’s Agronomy Division was attended by teachers of
Balulang National High School, Carmen National High School, San Simon National High School and Lumbia National High School.
 
Acting CAPOO department manager Engr. Bernie Daba Jr said the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP) in tandem with the National Urban & Peri-Urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP) seeks to tap school support in combating food insecurity through agriculture education.
 
CAPOO Agronomy Division chief Neil Vincent Cabacungan and personnel explained their office’s strategies to promote and pursue veggie gardening in schools and backyards which they said is in line with Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy's RISE development agenda. (LRM/CIO/ with CAPOO photos)
