TOP officials of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and finance executives paid a courtesy visit to Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy on Wednesday (Aug. 13) to introduce a loan program for cooperatives and small businesses.
Among those who visited Mayor Klarex were Undersecretary Alexander B. Raquepo, CDA chairman, Director Joselito O. Hallazgo of the Credit Surety Fund Service and Edgardo A. Micayabas, chairperson of the City Cooperative Development Council Cagayan de Oro City (CCDC-CDOC).
They were personally met by Mayor Klarex and Councilor Gilda ‘Gigi’ Go, chairperson of the 21st City Council’s committee on cooperatives along with top officials of the Community Improvement Division and cooperative representatives at the mayor’s office.
The CDA, in partnership with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), introduced the Credit Surety Fund (CSF) program wherein Micro, Small, Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) and cooperatives can secure loans without traditional collateral by offering a guaranteed security cover.
Wednesday's visit highlighted the partnership of cooperatives with Cagayan de Oro City Hall and national government agencies in extending funding assistance for city-based cooperatives and small businesses. (LRM/CIO photos by KDZ/CIO)
