Group launches ‘Tabang JeePinoy’ initiative

Written by CDO COVID19 Response Team
The crisis brought about by the Novel Coronavirus has curtailed the livelihoods of millions of Filipinos. Since the start of the nationwide community quarantine, the jeepney drivers of Cagayan de Oro City are having a hard time making ends meet.

The Epsilon Beta Kappa Society, Inc. (EBK), an organization that aims to form competent and socially-conscious law students and lawyers, remains committed to assisting the marginalized sector amid the global pandemic.

The “Tabang JeePinoy” initiative has been conceived to provide relief packages to the families of the jeepney drivers in the city. Each package will be worth approximately Php500, containing food items, vitamins, and protection kit against COVID-19.

The EBK Society is knocking on the generous hearts of its members from Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan and Liceo de Cagayan Chapters, including the public, for cash and in-kind donations.

EBK members and other interested donors may send their donations through any of the following accounts:

- GCash: 0917 892 2790 | Bianca Andrea Miranda I. Bince
- BDO: 000870576984 | Rica Angela Aquino
- BPI: 2320005992 | Rica Angela Aquino

Any amount will surely go a long way. The EBK Society has also provided a drop-off area for in-kind donations at the Kagayan Coffee Cartel located at 88 Hayes Street, Cagayan de Oro City (look for Mr. Jayve Ritardo).

The organization’s official Facebook and Instagram accounts will be turned into a transparency and information portal to keep the donors and the public updated with the Tabang JeePinoy’s progress.
