THE adoption of the citywide Public Safety Program for motorists and commuters and formulation of the 2026-2028 Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan were among the highlights of Tuesday’s ( Sept. 16 ) third quarter meeting of the City Peace, Development and Security Council (CPDSC).

 

Chaired by Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy, the full council meeting held at the City Tourism Hall was done in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

 

Updates on the city’s anti-insurgency and anti-crime campaigns were given by the military’s 403rd Infantry Brigade and the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) respectively.

 

For their part the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Cagayan de Oro City Fire Station and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) gave updates on their public safety and community welfare programs.

 

While the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) gave details on their Public Safety Program, the council also discussed the implementation of the national government’s ‘Oplan Ligtas na Mamamayan’ on the barangay level as well as the Capacitating Urban Communities for Peace and Development (CUCPD) program.
