The Oro-Trade and Investment Promotions Center (Oro-TIPC) officially opened its first Arts and Trade Fair under Bulawanong Bahandi (Golden Treasure): a celebration of the creative industry.
Among those who led the ribbon cutting ceremony were Oro-TIPC Assistant Department Manager Raelita Legaspi, Committee on Trade and Commerce Chairperson City Councilor George Christopher Goking, award-winning visual artist and curator Oscar Floirendo, visual artist and educator Rey G. Bollozos and local artist, Nic Aca.
The fair showcases paintings from visual artists at Magsaysay Park and designer gowns by the Oro Fashion Designers Guild and Ish Sierdan, which are on display inside the OKK building at Magsaysay Park starting Sept. 19 to Sept. 30.
Poetry night, film night, and song performances by local talents are also scheduled Friday (Sept. 19) followed by an art drawing workshop on Saturday (Sept. 20).
The fair runs until September 20 and is held in line with the celebration of Philippine Creative Industries Month every September pursuant to Republic Act No. 11904, which recognizes the talent, ingenuity, and creativity of Filipinos who continue to shape the nation’s cultural and economic landscape.
