OSCA JOINS OPENING OF NATIONAL ELDERLY WEEK IN ORO

CAGAYAN de Oro City Hall through their Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) joined other stakeholders in the kick off ceremony for the National Elderly Week observance held at one of the city’s malls on Wednesday (Oct. 1).
 
More than 500 senior citizens in Cagayan de Oro City and from the provinces of Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon and Misamis Occidental attended the celebration which carried the theme ‘Embracing Age: Living Life with Dignity and Purpose.’
 
The celebration is spearheaded by the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC-10) regional office headed by their regional director Mary Jean Asum, the regional office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-10) and the regional Philippine Health Insurance Office (PhilHealth-10).
 
The seniors were treated to a cultural fashion show, dance numbers and a variety show prepared by participating groups along with music by the 4th ID band.
 
Among the city officials present were Vice Mayor Jocelyn 'Bebot', Rodriguez—who represented Congressman Rufus Rodriguez of the city’s second district—and City Councilor Gilda 'Gigi' Go, chairperson of the City Council’s Committee on Senior Citizens, who represented Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy.
 
Also in attendance was Philhealth Regional Vice President Delio A. Aseron who led Philhealth's Yaman ng Kalusugan Program activity through their Local Health Insurance Office in coordination with the City Health Insurance Office (CHIO) and City Health Office (CHO).
