Task Force Oro's primary responsibility is to maintain peace and order in Cagayan de Oro, including counter-terrorism and supporting the anti-criminality drive of the Philippine National Police (PNP). It also conducts intensified patrolling and joint checkpoints with the city police force at various entry and exit points to the city.
