True service knows no bounds and Cagayan de Oro City Hall under Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy’s leadership lives up to this statement through their untiring commitment to serve the city’s senior citizens.
The City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD) - Senior Citizen section and the Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) visited one of several centenarian awardees who’s confined in one of the city’s private hospitals on Tuesday (Nov. 25).
The 101-year-old senior citizen named Cecilia Salcedo- Roa received the P100,000 centenarian cash incentive from these two offices.
The amount helped cover the recipient's medical bills. Under the Centenarian Act of 2016, all Filipino citizens who reach 100 years old are entitled to receive a non-taxable P100,000 cash incentive and a letter of congratulations from the President. (NLB/CIO/photos courtesy of OSCA)
