ORO PRICE MONITORING COUNCIL SETS 2026 PLANS

THE Cagayan de Oro City Price Coordinating Council (CDO CPCC), chaired by Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy and co-chaired by Atty. Jose Edgardo Uy, held their fourth quarter meeting by recounting their 2025 accomplishments and unveiling next year’s programs.
 
During their meeting held Thursday, Dec. 11 at one of the city’s hotels, Councilor George Christopher Goking spearheaded discussions on the council’s goals, plans, and projects to be implemented in 2026.
 
Goking chairs the 21st City Council’s trade and commerce committee. Also in attendance were representatives of various agencies and sectors like the Oro Chamber, the Committee on Consumer Protection, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the City Agriculture Productivity and Operations Office (APOO), the City Information Office (CIO), and the Xavier University (XU) Economics Department.
 
Among the council’s major accomplishments for the year were the Halal Lane Launching, Media Briefings, Product Standards Briefings, Annual Consumer Welfare Month, Bagwis Awarding, and the consistent conduct of quarterly meetings.
 
The meeting also highlighted the presentation of the 'Pakigsayod Project' by the Xavier University Economics Department. This initiative aims to empower communities by promoting informed and responsible consumerism. (MDS/CIO/Photos by:Reynan Baylin/CIO)
