CDO CONCLUDES 18-DAY CAMPAIGN TO END VAW

CAGAYAN de Oro City Hall’s City Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking, and Violence Against Women and their Children (CIACAT-VAWC) concluded their 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) on Friday, Dec. 12 at SM CDO Downtown Premier, this city.
 
The campaign done in partnership with Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking, and Violence Against Women and their Children (RIACAT-VAWC 10) featured among other activities the testimonies of women survivors.
 
Talents were also showcased with barangay VAW Desk workers joining a dance chant contest and a Poster-Making Contest showcased the creativity and commitment of Kagay-anons in promoting awareness against VAW.
 
A key highlight was the Guided Conversation on Protecting Women against Violence. This dialogue was led by strong advocates against VAW, including CIACAT-VAWC Lead Secretariat Atty. Venamay Celeste, PCPT EARL TAPDASAN-CARTAGENA (OIC, Women and Children’s Protection Desk of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office), and Mr. Mark Anthony E. Viernes (Community Based and Sectoral Section Head of DSWD Region X).
 
The event was graced by City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas, who represented Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy along with members of CIACAT-VAWC, RIACAT-VAWC, and representatives of various barangays and organizations. (NLB/CIO/photos by Jomar Figuracion/CIO).
