PSA X TURNS OVER EQUIPMENT TO CITY CIVIL REGISTRY

Written by NLB
TO fasttrack the digitalization of vital records, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Misamis Oriental officially turned over some equipment to the Cagayan de Oro City Civil Registrar’s Office (CCRO) on Friday, January 16.

The turnover ceremony was led by PSA Misamis Oriental Chief Statistical Specialist Maria Liza M. Bigornia and Acting City Civil Registrar Aeneas Vicente 'Noggie' C. Akut.

The package consisting of a high-performance desktop PC, a high-speed scanner, and a printer is part of the pilot implementation of the Electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (eCRVS) System.

The eCRVS is an interoperable system that will be used by the Local Civil Registry Offices and other Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) stakeholders such as LGU for the declaration, registration, records management and monitoring, certification, performance management, and integration of CRVS.

The eCRVS System was created to enable a secure, real-time and universal processing of civil registration of births, deaths, marriages, and other vital events.

It will also facilitate the timely production and dissemination of vital statistics, improve delivery of civil registration services to clients and stakeholders, increase efficiency by improving processes through use of digital tools; and improve timeliness and accuracy in the release of vital statistics.

The initiative was made possible through an agreement between the PSA and Cagayan de Oro City Hall under the leadership of Mayor Rolando A. Uy that aims to establish a seamless, interoperable platform for the declaration, registration, and monitoring of births, deaths, and marriages. (NLB/CIO/photos by Johnel Neri/CIO)
