The Cagayan de Oro Youth Development Office is the city government’s hub for youth development and empowerment. It serves as the secretariat to the Oro Youth Development Council, registers youth organizations and youth-serving organizations in the city, and advances democracy building and citizenship engagement in all aspects of its programs.
The Oro Youth Development Council is a coalition of youth organizations and an agenda-based body composed of representatives in different youth sectors - In-School, Out of School, Cultural Identity-based, Special Advocacy-based, Faith-based, and Community-based youth. Its primary purpose is to articulate the city youth development agenda, streamline multitude youth initiatives in the city, and encourage youth participation in different local committees.
During this time of pandemic, the Oro Youth Development Office and Council focused on Online Information Education Campaigns on Positive Messaging & Staying Home, Youth Mobilization, and Policy Recommendation. The Office and Council are also slated to run various webinar series and other campaigns that will capacitate the youth in transitioning to the new normal.
