The developer that offered the lot where a police precinct will be built in the uptown area offered to construct buildings in the site, Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy said on Friday.

‘I met with officials of A. Brown Corp. and they offered to construct the buildings (for the police precinct) and they asked if the expenses can be deducted from their taxes. I told them that I would have to refer their proposal to the City Council for approval,’ Mayor Klarex said during his ‘Inyong Alagad: Mayor Klarex’ program aired at Magnum Radyo Friday morning.

 

Mayor Klarex said he didn’t attend the turnover of documents certifying the lot donation to Cagayan de Oro City Hall in last Monday morning’s flag-raising program since the 20th City Council had yet to authorize him to sign the deed of donation. The council approved the ordinance for this purpose during their Monday afternoon session last Aug. 15.

 

Proposed Ordinance No. 2022-04 authorized Mayor Klarex to accept the donation of A. Brown Co. Inc. consisting of a 700 square meter lot located in Barangay Balulang. City Administrator Roy Hilario Raagas accepted in behalf of Mayor Klarex the turnover of documents of lot donation from A. Brown Co. officials together with administration officials.

 

Aside from a police precinct, the lot will also house a fire station and an emergency response center by the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Department (CDRRMD).
