CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy warns all gangs to dismantle and keep off the streets, even as he asked authorities to look for solutions to violent crimes involving minors.

 

“Muhangyo ko sa mga gangs, mga ginikanan sa mga membro, ilabina ang mga menor-de-edad nga membro sa gangs nga undangon na ang inyong kalihukan, kay basin mahayan ninyo ang inyong mga binuhatan,” Mayor Klarex Uy said.

 

He ordered Col. Aaron Mandia, director of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) to identify all gangs in the city and identify their leaders. “Sa mga menor-de-edad nga lider ug membro sa mga gang, ako makig-dialogue sa ilang mga ginikanan,” he added.

 

The mayor called for people’s cooperation, saying crime preventions needs a whole-community-approach. “Isip amahan sa lungsod, daku ang akong kasubo ug tulobagon ko ang mga panghitabo sa atong syudad. Apan tabangi ako. Magtinabangay kita,” said Mayor Klarex Uy, who also ordered the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) to intensify surveillance and rescue minor loitering in the streets.

 

Col. Mandia identified the perpetrator of the ghastly crime that claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy as a certain Raul Lumaba, 18 years of age, and a member of a gang called Soy Shit Dem. The victim is a member of the Kaibigan Lang Po gang. (CMO Communications Group)
