Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy wishes Carlo Paalam the best as he advances to the finals of the 2022 Asian Boxing Confederation in Amman, Jordan.

 

In his first international campaign after winning the flyweight silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics, Kagay-anon Paalam coasted to the finals through a unanimous decision against Kyrgyzstan’s Sanzhai Seidekmatov Thursday afternoon in the bantamweight class.

 

 

“Si Carlo Paalam dako kaayo nga inspirasyon sa kabatan-onan. Salamat sa imong mga paningkamot nga nagdala og garbo sa atong dakbayan ug sa nasud Pilipinas,” Mayor Klarex Uy said of the former child waste picker.

Paalam goes for the gold against Kazakhstan’s Makhmud Sabyrkhan. (CMO)
