The women’s volleyball team of Barangay Carmen came out victorious after emerging as champions in the recently concluded Inter-Barangay Women’s Invitational Volleyball League while barangay Consolacion topped the K-Pop dance contest, highlighting the National Women’s Month celebration.

 

A total of 21 barangays participated in the volleyball league held at Barangay 24 covered court, while barangays Carmen, Tablon, Puntod, Gusa, Balulang, Consolacion, Brgy. 23, Lumbia, Brgy. 26, Kauswagan, Mambuaya and Patag displayed their dancing prowess.

 

Inter-Barangay Women’s Invitational Volleyball League winners:

• Champion - Carmen

• 1st placer- Bulua

• 2nd placer- Kauswagan

• 3rd placer- Mambuaya

• Most Valuable Player - Kristel Jane Taganas of Brgy Carmen

K-Pop Dance Contest winners:

• Champion - Brgy Consolacion

• 1st Placer - Mambuaya

• 2nd Placer - Barangay 23

 

The said activities are part of the month-long celebration of the Women’s Month spearheaded by the city government of Cagayan de Oro through the City Gender and Development Focal Point System, headed by its focal person Ms. Sheila Lumbatan, and supported by Committee on Women and Family Relations Chairperson City Councilor Girlie Balaba and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President Kenneth John Sacala.
